After enjoying the Jagdpanzer IV build in 1/72 I decided to start one in 1/35.

Ooooh, watching this thread! I’m glad you got your suspension springs on in the right direction, as opposed to my big slip up on my PzIV!

The suspension has two different size mounting holes making it impossible to get them backwards. The road wheels on yours will make it hard to see your mistake though.

Yeah, Tamiya are generally lovely kits to build… Urbam had suggest the brand when I went to build my first model on reentering the hobby way back ago. And yeah, on my build, my initial panic subsided after realizing the road wheels would help hide my faux pas… plus. I’m planning a little mud in there, too… or snow… or both, lol!

Tiny little pieces to hinge the loader and commanders hatchs, not much bigger then the tip of a #11 blade. Now 4 in place and 4 to go. I did clean up of the bits of plastic after all the cement had dried.

Those tiny parts can be maddening to work with, and the plastic can melt horribly sometimes, but what a sense of accomplishment when it’s done! Yay, fingers!

I was close to getting it all in place, I may still after I give it one more try to find the little b@st@rd piece in the carpet tonight. 7 of 8 still not to bad for 64 yo eyes with glasses and big fingers. Would be nice if Tamiya would mold you a couple extra just for this reason.

I've got this kit and it's beautiful. However I think having to buy the gun breech as a seperate kit is a little steep.

Where the after market breech would go. If I had it.

Even for Tamiya the fit of parts is outstanding with some pieces just clicking into place. Then just a touch of CA to keep it all in place. Sorry about the funky lighting effect.

Took the breach out of an old junked out model and trimmed it up a bit and installed. Have to clean it up a bit but I think it looks good.

That works quite well. I think sometimes if the eye has something to roam over, the brain fills in the rest.
