NCO's, the German has quite the peak to his cap.

American NCO with Thompson. I usually do not prime with white but here we are. I may still hit them with some dark grey after I get the rest of the bare ground work done.

Holy cow! I don’t think I’ve seen you work on Bolt Action minis before… are you going to play these with the system, or is this for the fun of painting? Did the bases come with that terrain already on and painted, or did you do them (and how)?
I’ve seen a good deal of finished BA minis, but I’ve never actually seen them done from straight out of box, so I am watching this with great interest! I love 28mm miniatures painting!!! The detail is phenomenal!!!

Hey Em, glad to see you back. I'm doing them up for both the enjoyment of painting and play. As for the groundwork the bases come with a rim around them, just perfect for a drop of super glue then I have just sprinkled sand on and that was it. I have sinced diluted white glue (PVA) and brushed it on the base to finish covering the figures little bases. The figures are metal and fun to work with. I see BA making a lot of hard plastic figures but I kind of enjoy these metal figures and hope to find more.

Working on my Americans, have a way to go yet. No ground work done yet and figures still have some gloss to them.

Nice colors! Acrylics, I assume? I wonder how many miniatures painters stay with enamels? …I personally never use enamels anymore

After augmenting my winter GI's with 4 figures I found these 4 winter Germans to help bulk up there squad. These are from Offensive Miniatures. Only they may work out a bit odd is they are all armed with Soviet PPSH41's but they are more figures I can work in. While not all that odd to probably see one or two in the west 4 may look a bit off in a single squad. Yes Em, I paint with acrylics due to my wife's asthma. I do use rattle cans as you know but I spray and leave them outside for the afternoon.

Glad you’ve found ways to continue your hobbies, while also tending to her asthma… my wife is chemical intolerant so, hence my over-focus on being non-toxic in my hobbies.

The German soldiers really liked the PPsH-41 with it's high rate of fire (900 RPM) and a hot and potent round. The irony is that Soviet soldiers liked the MP-40 that was a well made and reliable SMG, much more so than the PPsH-41 that was very finicky with the magazines (the later PPS-43 stick magazines worked much better in the PPsH-41 than the drum magazine. The Suomi KP-31 has to be the only SMG ever to have reliable drum magazines. But yes, the PPsH-41 was a really good SMG if you could get hand of a good magazine that fitted the gun properly...

Rounded out my American squad with this 3 pack. I had my doubts about being able to find a small pack of winter Americans in metal but Noble Knights came thru with these. Very happy.

WOW, those American soldier sculpts look awesome! Love them!!! Are those bases mounting plates provided with Bolt Action minis? …I’ve never actually bought any, or seen them in real life.
