The broad rim on the inner wheels should be unpainted as the track horns worned them clean.

WOW, this is a brilliant point Urb and Mike! …I actually had NO idea about that! So, of the road wheels were offset such as this type tank, the back side of the outer wheels basically scraped down the outer inner rim of the road wheels? …I’m trying to wrap my head around this: the black rims on the perimeter of the road wheels were black rubber? …basically, like a tire? Or do I have that wrong? We’re they solid atop the perimeter of the rim, or wrapped around the perimeter of the rim? …I seem to remember that chunks are sometime taken out of them from wear.

No it's not the outer wheels that wear at the inner wheels but it's the guide horns on the track links that wear at the inner wheels as those line up between the track guide horns. The rubber on the wheels was a solid chunk of rubber an the rubber shortages was the reason for the steel wheels on the late Panther, Tiger I and on the Tiger II. The steel wheels did have rubber bushings internally so they used up far less rubber that way. The draw back though was that the steel wheeled tanks was noisier than the variants with traditional wheels.

Tracks are on, link and length. I love this pic… the comparison of the painted wheels and upper hull is a wonderful image for folks unfamiliar with what we do to paint these model kits, to see a clear example of the differing painted surfaces, all in one picture. I just love what you did with the wheels! And by the way, this is such a clean build, too… great work!

WOW! Love the progress…looks amazing! So some questions (…like you didn’t see That coming!): the exhaust pipes (do those have a name, or are they just, exhaust pipes …did it come with that dent, or did you fabricate it? The bullet holes…OMGosh, those are the best I’ve seen done! …how did you do them, and how did you achieve that ragged hole look?

Flammenvernichter= Flame Eliminating or Flame Damping exhausts. The dent is my handy work, just use a #11 blade then smooth with sanding film. The shrapnel holes I just start by drilling a little hole then stick my trusty #11 blade in and twist it.

It adds “story” to the work, which I always admire in attention to detail.

Nice! One of the things I’m trying to get better at is the dirt on the bottom, and tracks. I need to figure out mud.
