When making a post, often, it’s great to insert a link to an external website, such as when talking about a vendor that sells a certain wargaming product that you use. This can be as simple as inserting the URL directly into the post, such as this… studiobergstrom.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=81_82, which is where I got several of my Battlestar Galactica style miniatures for my game. But oftentimes, that same URL can be terribly long, and therefor a bit unsightly. Another way you can approach this is to embed the link! This is how you do it:
Say I have a post that I want to talk about Battlestar Galactica Viper miniatures, but I also want to provide a link to it, I would start the paragraph text, and decide whether to use the work ‘here’, or use the destination website title. I’ll show both…my post reads…
In designing my Battlestar Galactica miniatures game, the miniatures I used were sold here, and they were the absolute best minis I could find for things like my Viper fighters, and even the Raptors.
The other way is…

HOW’D I DO IT?
1. Open the website in question
…you’ll want to highlight the URL in the address bar > and Copy it
2. Go back to your post in the forum and highhlight the word ‘here’, the website name, or whatever word(s) you want the link to be… I chose ‘here’ like what you see below
3. Then go up to the top tool bar and click on the little icon that looks like a globe with a paper sheet overlapping the globe > then a pop-up box pops up where you can: a] within the “text box”, dictate what the text will say in the post; and b] within the URL box, you then will Paste in the URL you copied on the destination website you copied in step 2 > and then click “Creat Link”
You will see in the picture below,. ‘Here’ is now a link, which when clicked on, will bring you to the destination website you’re talking about…
Note that for the image I posted in #3 above, the text box says ‘link’… I messed up my photo captures and that should say ‘here’
