I’ve taken to using “27-Compartment Box Clear” boxes from The Container Store. These can be found here.

I use these specifically, for my advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit counters and they work wonderful. I’m able to get major powers into the 27-compartment boxes (seen above, which cost a boy $10 each), and smaller nationalities in the 14-compartment boxes (about $6 each).
Here’s an example of one of my boxes…
Even though th interior compartments are squared and not rounded on front/back sides, the wells are shallow enough to still, easily grab counters out. Stacked, they really minimize storage space. The lid has a great seal with the main box, so counters do not migrate when the container is tipped or moved roughly in travel. I highly recommend them!
