Review site for 1/72

There are a lot of manufacturers for plastic 1/72 scale figures.

Plastic soldier review  is an excellent site link.

This site can be looked at by timeline or manufacturer. 
Each review gives scores out of ten for accuracy, poses, quality of moulding etc.
The reviews even let you know the type of plastic and the average size of the figures.
1/72 figures can range from 20mm in height to 25mm. That's nearly 1/4" difference.

This can give a good idea as to what you get if you fork out for a box of figures.

Some companies rebadge boxes from others so in the listings you may see a set
listed but it will tell you to look at the set from another mob as they are the same.
There is nothing worse than buying a set of each from two different companies and
finding they are the same one.

I was wondering not long ago… do you still play Battlefront: WWII? I really loved the games you posted and GMed at the old forum.

Not really due to lack of players. Plus medical stuff and changes of work hours. It's a conspiracy I tell ya.

A couple of friends are exploring options for quicker games though and I am too. We may come up with a
bitza (bits of this bits of that - term for a mixed breed dog in Australia) - we usually do anyway.

We've got the Napoleonic ships we made and Sails of Glory so that could be one (Sails as per your recommendation).

The other is a modified quick version for campaigns per country etc in Axis and Allies (boardgames mixed with
miniatures would be the end result).

I had a chance to try out Sails of Glory a couple years back at a game event… a gamer friend from Connecticut owns a substantial collection and he magnetized the ship base bottoms, which he places them on cookie sheets! I can’t remember how he scored them vertically to the tray above doesn’t crush the sails for the layer pin the bottom. Anyway, the game is very nice… I was getting ready to retire so I was totally burned out at the time and I had a devil of a time with sail direction…I was literally like a drunken sailor!

I still have my Battlefront book and I still love the system! I’ve noticed a few friends being interested in minis sand armor games of late so, maybe I can lure them in!
