I tried making a dullcoat concoction of 70% Pledge (Future acrylic) and 30% Tamiya Flat Base. I tried applying it to the bottom of one of my Huey miniatures and it fogged up into a whitish look. I’ve done this technique without fail in the past, and was surprised this happened… luckily, I only did one ‘copter and just the bottom and side boom.
A. What the heck happened, do you think? I’m thinking it was the Tamiya Flat Base, which is likely turned bad… it’s well over 15 years old and was clumpy on the sides of the jar when I opened, so I tried stirring it up; it looked grayish and ended up pouring out into my empty jar in clumpy fashion (…I’m thinking ot should be like watery liquid, instead).
B. Any fix… do I need to strip it, or will a repaint over it do? I went down to my workbench and tried scrubbing the white fog off with an old brush… then applied a coat of Pledge (Future) and let dry. Seemed to solve the issue. I placed some Vallejo paint over it as an added measure and we’ll see what the result later.

It's possible that you put it on too heavy. 30% is walking on the edge of disaster. There's one fix that my work if you haven't created to much of the ill-effect and that is to respray a gloss coat over it all.
In the future I recommend you to use Winsor & Newton Galeria Flat Varnish 1:1 with IPA.
