I finally pulled the trigger on buying a coil binding machine! I’ve gone to Staples (office equipment store here in the USA) to have both professionally printed manuals and home printed manuals, and it costs something like $15 USD for each manual… that can add up over time, and it has! For me, it was worth the couple hundred bucks to buy my own coil binding machine; these being a little more expensive than comb binding machines, which has wide plastic combs that bind the book together rather than coil spring, combs being less sturdy and not as durable. My first test run was a Lock ‘N Load Tactical v4.1 manual, which lies perfectly flat! Definitely an extravagance purchase, but it will pay for itself in 14 manuals made!
