I picked up this cool game at a FLGS in Connecticut last week! I’d seen it on Kickstarter, but I didn’t have the money to back the project at the time, which was about $60 at the base core game only level (and stretch goals)… however, I managed to buy this one at $59.99, so at the very least, I managed to get that core game (…no stretch goals, of course).
Thunder Road: Vendetta is a revved-up restoration of the classic 1986 game of mayhem on the asphalt. Grab your crew, roll your dice, race your cars, shoot your guns, and try not to get wrecked.
This new version features exciting new additions, including random hazard tokens, such as wrecks, oil slicks, and more. Damage isn't merely one and done. Now, you'll draw damage tokens with exciting effects that can send your car careening across the board. You'll also have more choices on your turn, assigning one of your dice to your command board to repair damage, nitro boost, or send out your attack copter to fire away.

It’s an amazing game with awesome components… nothing cheaply made here!
All gameboard and components are made with thick board. The road tiles (raceways) come in double-sided boards with rows of “road”, each raceway abutting end to end to form a wide array of roadway Hell! The trackers also fit similarly, making a nice looking race vehicle dashboard. The vehicle themselves are Amazing… beautifully done and perfectly sculpted plastic miniatures.
The game could be funded back when it was on Kickstarter with the addition of three expansions, but that would have cost a hundred and a half to go all-in…of course, some backers have already tripped that cost for sale on eBay! But end of the day, I’m very glad I was able to find this one. The rulebook is big, with big type and only 11-pages long, so it should be a fairly quick read and comprehend.
I plan to prong it to Compass Games Expo in November for some evening multiplayer action. I see there’s a Tabletop Simulator version which I may look into… perhaps we can get a game going here!
