I can understand the road factor in this game, considering weather and dense forests… really makes you appreciate the scope of moving so many units in such a limited manner. Does the weather always clear about the same turn time in replays you think? …or is it kinda a surprise? Personally, I think I’d rather the latter.

For weather you can use the printed historical weather or roll for weather. Movement is slow and grinding. I like it!

American divisions destroy German divisions all along the line from Eupen to the south of Spa. This has been a great and surprising at times battle.

2 turns left and will probably call this game tonight. The Germans had almost reached Marche in the center and Bastogne was a constant back and forth battle for control of the town. Thinking of going to Winter Thunder to see how the old game compares with the new. Very good game imo especially with the defenders solitaire table, I was worried the table my result in some wild outcomes but this is not the case.

That’s a great mini-AAR! I’m really curious to see the comparison results…please, do tell! I liked the surprises garnered in play…very cool when that happens!

Winter Thunder Dec 2023 update. Morning Dec 21st 1944. Start of the 6th day and American reinforcements start to pour in. The Germans still hold Bastogne in the south, but to the north they have been kicked back out of Eupen. Misty weather will give the US 2 Air Points to use in attack or defense, a d10 roll of 3 divided in half and rounded up puts 2 German Corps HQ out of supply.
