Just saw this over at Kickstarter. I'm not interested myself as I don't game anymore but there can't be that many games out there that deals with the interesting Italian campaign so just by that fact it could be of interest for some of you nutters! It's not even expensive as I see it... The Soft Underbelly, 1943-1945

That’s a sexy looking game, too… gorgeous map and counters. Yeah, it’s quite reasonably priced… looks like $32 USD, which is an awesome price. Thanks for sharing!

I almost bought GMT's Salerno 43 today but a Tamiya Jagdpazner IV/70V won out. I should find a game on the Italian Campaign though as I have none, zero, zip, nadda, well you get the idea.

I know! Struggled for 2 days on which way to go. It’s a gorgeous looking game! I’ve been looking at it and I’m tempted, myself! After the Compass Games Expo and post-buying spree, even $31 is a tough target to meet, but damn! What’s getting me is, it shares much of GMTs, Normandy ‘44 game, which I own… I like when systems work off one another, with shared rules or concepts. U also haven’t played much on this Front, let alone regiment/brigade-level. I don’t see how I can pass this one up… it’s on my short list for upcoming purchases. Hmmmm, the Wedding Anniversary just went by yesterday… I might try that angle on Karen …though I see it’s up to $37 now!

Salerno 43 has a lot of things I like in a game including smaller map and lower counter count And of course the price. I may have to dip into my medal buying war chest to fund this one.
I also like games that share the same rules, as a matter of fact I'm setting up Konigsberg at the moment which has basically the same rules as Celles and Across the Narva. All 3 are keepers in my book and hope to see Roger Miller put out a couple more using the same system.

I agree with with those sentiments, and those are elements I look for in a game, too (including what you say in the below quote). Whereas I do like a big honkin’ map battlefield, that also means a lot of logistics in moving and fighting, as well as spending a lot more time doing all that. I am a tad jealous of my non-kitty owning friends that can leave games set up for days, weeks, months! Low counter count is a bonus, as well! I feel your pain on funding game purchases! These things are getting crazy, with one to two hundred dollar prices each having become the norm. Yes, I know it costs more to make games (United States companies are too ridiculous to use, and shipping from cheaper manufacturers in China has skyrocketed since the pandemic et. al.), but these prices are tough to meet. I was lucky to have a nice nest egg from retirement, having banked a lot of my personal vacation leave, but that’s dwindling. …that’s rally hitting the nail on the head! …it’s why I love games like LNLP’s “Tactical”, “Nations at War”, and “World at War” series games so much, for instance… one core rules system, with small module rules for the added fluff, and you’ve a ton of games to play, without having to learn completely new rule sets! I just counted the games I own in those three systems alone, and it’s 72 games! I mean, how fabulous is that!!! And of the games you just mentioned, you sold me on all of those! They’ve become favorites for me. I’ve always said, you and I are brothas’ from different mothas’!
