I've been writing and recording songs for twenty years. This year I'm recording a song that I wrote a few years ago, and I hope it will be the first of many songs that I'll make into an album.
I hadn't done this in a little while, and I wasn't sure how to move forward with this song after making a drum-and-bass backing track. I told myself to just press record, put my earbuds in, pick up my guitar, and start playing along to the track. It would sound like crap, but then I'd move forward from there.
Well, I finally got motivated and did it...and it didn't sound like total crap. You never know until you just do it. So I'm encouraged. This could turn out pretty good.

WOW… so cool! How do you plan to release the eventual album? Do you have studio space somewhere, or is this home grown?

WOW… so cool! How do you plan to release the eventual album? Do you have studio space somewhere, or is this home grown? Thanks for asking! I've been doing this for a long time, and there's always extremely little interest in my music. So I don't try to sell it. I'm lucky if I can get someone to listen for free. I just post my music on Bandcamp.com and allow people to pay what they want. My most recent album is here: astralwound.bandcamp.com/I recorded that last album in the basement of our house in Ohio, mostly. I remember having to record guitar in my tiny office for one song, I guess when the basement was unavailable. Now we have a bigger house, and I have a bigger office. I play quietly because it bothers my wife, but I do have a studio set up in here. (It's also my gaming room.) It definitely works better when Tara's out of the house and I can crank the guitar for a recording. I use my computer for drums, so at least she never has to hear drumming.

Well, it took me this long, but I finally finished working on that song I started so long ago! And I got a second song done at the same time. They are here: astralwound.bandcamp.com/album/heart-of-hearts-singleAnd here's a video for one of them (sorry about the huge watermark):
