I love going to a conventions, expos, and other large gaming events; but I also find myself going to small game clubs, game stores that host gaming space, and even friends’ homes. For the latter, I can generally carry whatever game(s) I want to play just fine, but for the former big events, even carrying all t(r games you brought up to your hotel room can be a challenge, not to mention around the gaming space. I have a large rectangular pull-along bag with a telescoping handle…it’s a little unwieldy, on its tiny wheels but it generally gets the job done. I have a real nice tool crate, but it’s bulky, heavy, and sometimes unwieldy.
At these events, I typically have a dozen or less games I bring with me to play over the course of several days to a week. Also, there’s also games I buy! All need to be transported.
At recent expos, I noted gamers carrying bags, both back pack style and duffle, and I further noted the ease at which they logged their gear about!
With what I’ve learned is called the “Convention Backpack”, all these needs can easily be met! I found a nifty one, sized 12.6" x 13" x 19.7. It’s made of durable padding nylon (10mm thick), and it’s water-resistant material will allow me to carry the bulkiest of games while keeping them dry and protected. The adjustable straps in the back give me the comfort of doing so for a long period of time. Looks like the perfect convention companion, to me!
Details:
• Depth x Width x Height: 12.6" x 13" x 19.7"
• Main compartment zipper encompasses three sides, allowing for easy loading and unloading of games
• Zippered front pocket measures 11" x 1.5" x 13.25"
• Adjustable padded back straps
• Padded top handle
I love how this bag has a padded handle on top, yet also is a functioning back back
The bottom is well protected and has great skids
At $24.99 USD, I figured it was a good gamble! At the time of this purchase tonight, it can be found here.
