Brilliant! Great diorama Urban. One question for you, what did you use for snow? I have some gaming miniatures set in winter and I have been wondering what to use. I know there are plenty of tutorials on line but none that I have watched say how their snow lasts over time, I especially want to stay away from anything that will yellow. Thanks for any advice you may have.

I know there are plenty of tutorials on line but none that I have watched say how their snow lasts over time, I especially want to stay away from anything that will yellow. Thanks for any advice you may have. Baking soda sprinkled over thinned white glue and it's still white today. But I think that I used it wrong as I've seen others mix it with white glue and brush it on for a more even coverage. My example is a bit rough in appearance and I doubt that it'll stand the wear and tear that a gaming miniature will suffer. Vallejo have a product that may be the answer for you. I don't recall the name of the product right now and haven't used it myself even if I bought a bottle five years ago. I'll have a look around and see if I can find it.

"No, not a single fuck given about that." Bravo Urban! I'm rather good at that as I'm one of those that just simply doesn't give a single fuck about what others think about me...

Here mate! But as I said I've yet to test it. I'm not that found of winter subjects and so far I've only done TWO builds with a winter setting. My preferred setting is North Africa. I get enough snow over a year irl as I see it...

Glorious build! The interior is phenomenal, and the gun breach is lovely! I too like the diorama… was that all baking soda over the foam, or did you use plaster, too?
I understand some folks may have given a ration of shit over not weathering the hull, because a lot of people just like being snots a bought things and can’t see the Forrest for the trees…they’re too mired in “standards”; but I see (and very much appreciate your giving) the backstory on the subject modeled, and desired outcome and it makes the build more authentic to me. Great work. Oh, and thanks for the details on the T-34-57…I had no idea about that particular AFV.

Thanks Em!
I used papier mache and wood putty in order to build up the ground.

Thanks Em! I used papier mache and wood putty in order to build up the ground. Hmmmm, I’ve not seen wood putty used…very cool! Papier-mâché is amazing stuff!!! I’m slowly moving forward with model dioramas.
