OOtB build Tammy kit in 1:72


It all went rather well 'til it was time to put on the final coat of clear flat. It wen't white n' frosty on me plus it cracked all over the surface as well. Ended up with a filter with Humbrol #118 over it all in order to tone down all the white. The Spit looks good at a distance but it's a disaster up close. And the fix turned out to be only temporary as the whole model is grey-white from the botched flat varnish layer. But that doesn't matter to me today as I don't care about my finished models as it's the journey that is the goal for me with my building. But I'll give it a good send off in a couple of months when I'm gonna try out my best pal's 9mm...

As you can see, no primer was harmed in the making of this one. Nowadays I'm priming my models...

Lovely Spit, to bad about the finish coat. Luckily I have never had that happen to me. Knock on wood. I just love the spitfire, graceful looking in flight to my eyes anyway.

Here's some fresh photos of this disaster of a build. My quick fix close to 12 years ago didn't help in the long run and it looks worse now than it did back when I fucked it up with the flat coat. I put it under the tap in order to rinse off the accumulated dust from the kit so there's some wet spots left on the pgotos and I broke off some parts but that's no worries.
