Got an invite from Emery, thanks, Buddy! I see Brian has made it here as well, good deal. A short background on me, hopefully I won’t rattle on too much, lol. I'm not a wargamer, but I do like FPS games online, even War Thunder. I know yall paint them tiny little itty-bitty figures for your games and that is wild, imho. The smallest scale I paint is 1/35th. I come from the scale model end of this spectrum, but everything you guys are doing here is the same, just smaller. So, I hope yall don't mind if I run a few SBS' over time and load up my current project. Who knows, we might learn something from each other, cause I've never stopped learning, and I don't plan on doing that any time soon. I am also an "oiler", which means I use artist oils to paint all of my figures and only use acrylics for minor details and undercoats, etc. Don't misunderstand me, I know acrylics are all the rage right now for painting figures, and in most cases it's the best option for very small figures, but I paint in scales up to 200mm, which would be 1/10th scale. The blending properties one can obtain from oils can never be topped by acrylics, IMHO. And besides, who wants to continually layer their work, not me. I’ve been doing this for a bit, started back in the mid 70’s like most of us old farts in this “Sport”, and back at it from time to time, but right now I’m still as giddy like a little kid on his forst date working figures and kits, to this very day. I see no reason to stop now, so off I go. See you on the board, Gents. Cheers, Ski.

One of the best figure painters I've ever seen. Steve produces world-class work.

Thanks for comin’ over, Ski! I appreciate your cross pollinating your work from over at Modelers Social Club! Feel free to drag anyone else over, as well! You hit the nail on the head with, wargaming and model kit building having lost of similarities… I’m a believer that they have more in common than not: building scale replicas, painting them, and dioramas are all similar and draw knowledge from one another; the materials uses, from glues to paint to putty, are commonalities; and the techniques in painting and landscaping are the same… just all in different scales. Much of what I am able to do with vehicles and figures in my miniatures Wargames, I learned from modelers and my modeling endeavors. Cheyenne Mountain , which is the is the Miniatures zone, has many subjects that correlate to Area 51’ s Models zone…and vice versa. Make sure to check out each Anyway… thanks for joining, man… I truly appreciate it!
