I’ve spent about three hours today trying to scarf four Pocket Battles postcard games centering around the Battle of the Bulge, and Kampfgruppe Peiper. These are highlighted at BGG and has all the postcards data (no game downloads), but folks have posted pics of the front and back of the postcards The little project turned into a big project, taking way more time than I anticipated putting in… mainly, in trying to scale both sides of the postcards so the units are the same size… ugh! …I’m usually pretty good at this stuff, but a year away from leaving work has made my tech skills with the computer a little lacking
I actually have the first in the four postcard series, but after seeing Mike enlarge a map in similar, I thought I’d start with that for the postcard I have… then, I saw you can put all four postcards together for a huge game!?! …well, that got me in this mess of trying to cull these.
For those that don’t know, ATO sends these postcards for free with orders from them, as do a couple other vendors… I have an ACW one, too, and I don’t think I ever got an ATO magazine so, I must have got them from some other vendor. They’re cool little games, some just using a deck of playing (poker) cards as a large part of the mechanic.
They’re cool little games…and great for travel. I’m pretty burned out, LOL, and will try and pick up the project tomorrow… makes me wonder how I did what I did as a working slob!!!
