What became of Dragon? As Em is probably aware I have not built a ww2 armor kit since 2014 when my interest changed to ww1. Actually built very few kits period. After Xmas this year, and after finishing some kits out of my stash I went looking to see whats new on Amazon and could hardly find any Dragon kits at all, except one or two of the older kits. Is this still Covid related?

They’re still around and kickin’ Since they are a Hong Kong company, I would imagine there’s likely a supply issue as is typical of the region since the pandemic. I think shipping is probably just finally starting to sort itself out, but things were horrifically stacked up for a very long time. Costs are through the roof, too… lot of models costing well over $100 a kit so, my guess is that retailers may be trigger shy in sticking much. According from what I see on their site though, they are producing still.

Dragon is still around but sadly as I really like to work with their kits is the fact that they've been surpassed by newer manufacturers but they've raised their prices without doing anything to up their game. That's the main reason as to why you don't see 'em around as much today compared to 10-15 years ago when they dominated the scene.

I’m sure you’re in the right track about that… there are so many great kit manufacturers out there today that I to, Dragon fell behind the times. The other one that surprised me was Sir Peter Jackson’s, Wing Nut models which shut down around 2020, see this article.

Yes, that was sad but I've got almost all the WNW kits that I want to build, but there's a few that I'd like to have as well but you can't winn all the time...

Those Wing Nut Wings kits were truly amazing kits… top of the line. I didn’t realize at first, it was an effort of love for the hobby of the amazing Peter Jackson. I would imagine those kits command quite high prices on the secondary market, when they can indeed be found at all.

Didn't Border Models get the WW molds for the 1/32 Lancaster and release that? That would be a monster.
