Along with the Academy Panther I also picked up this PanzerIV J Late by Border Models. A nice looking kit that I will add a couple more pictures of. I had another pic but it sucked!  One interesting thing is it comes with both link and length track and working tracks.  |

WOW, that’s a purty kit! I can’t wait to see the build thread on that! I’m coming to love working on PzIVs, except for the road wheels, lol!

Decals, photo etch and metal gun barrel. Love metal barrels, muzzle brake is plastic though.  |

Love what comes in this kit…should be great fun to build! Was it expensive? …I was looking at FineScale Modeler this afternoon and was shocked at some of the prices listed on their kits for sale page….most were well over a hundred!

$52.00 off Amazon. Yes model kits have become quite pricey haven't they. Airplane kits seem pretty decently priced yet though. I got a nice Hobby Boss Ta152 in 1/48 for about 30 bucks. Also just noticed on the Panzer no grill work for the engine deck!

Also just noticed on the Panzer no grill work for the engine deck! You can still find good deals out there, but the quality isn’t always there in those low cost kits. I try to remember that ALL hobbies are expensive endeavors; that you joy of building is worth process paid when you can, but it’s getting harder to add to the stash! I always keep my eyes peeled at swap meets and thrift shops…surprising what you can find sometimes! …and the very occasional estate sale, but those are far and few between. |
