Hello all!
I'm a 58 YO grandfather of 9 who enjoys model building and computer wargaming. I found this forum via Whiterock who recently joined the model building forum I am a member of.
My interest in wargaming began when I was about 12 years old and was exposed to Avalon Hill's Tobruk. I grew up moving cardboard counters around the map on the kitchen table top. (My parents were very accommodating). When I was a teenage, I saw my first computer game and have been wargaming on the computer since.
I don't have much to contribute wargaming wise, but I am an active model builder. I mostly build armor with a few sci fi models thrown in to keep things interesting.
I look forward to hanging out and getting to know you all.

Welcome chromedome! Nice to have you here. I look forward to seeing some of your models, and who knows, maybe get you back to pushing those little cardboard squares around.

Soooooooooo happy to see you join up here, CD! As Mike says, maybe we can entice you into pushing cardboard counters around again, and maybe play a game here… at our old site, we did a lot of Play-by Post gaming, where it’s at the players’ pace and no pressure…just having fun! Where I think you could make a HUGE impact is our fledgling model building zone! Please post lots in there and maybe we can get that area rocking. Pretty much anything I post in there will be at MSC, as well… For the folks reading this, MSC stands for Modelers Social Club forum, which I joined way back in 2013, on my birthday, in fact! It was one of my favorite haunts back then, but had drifted away for whatever reason (most likely, work sucking my essence dry); with a resurgence and an ongoing overhaul, MSC is back strong and I am overjoyed to see it strong once again! I encourage folks to check it out…link here. Not only is it a great place to really learn model building, but you can have a duplicate thread here, too! The DropZone is first and foremost a wargaming site, but we can have a healthy coexistence with MSC, as well. After all, the reason I have a modeling section here is, it’s allied in many of the same skill sets in both hobbies, and what a miniature gamer can learn from a model kit builder, works exactly in reciprocaty. This is a big boon for the DropZone, in having a kit builder of CD’s talents!
