Is it possible? I really don’t know, but I intend to check into it. What am I talking about? Super-sizing my favorite solitaire game of all time, the “ Raid in St. Nazaire” The original game map looks like this… I saw a post on Facebook from Andrew Laing, who put together an oversized version of the game, starting with a friend who ran a printing business, whom he got to scan the board map and then he printed it out on the material that is used for billboard advertising. He then added miniatures from Heroics & Ros WW2 Coastal Warfare range, 1/600 scale, such as the MTBs, MLs, etc. The HMS Campbeltown is the old Airfix plastic model at 1/600 scale. The figures and guns are all 1/300 Germans/British from Heroics WW2 range Heroics & Ros. Man, I’m tempted! …but that’s be a lot of miniatures! I suppose an alternate e would be to have the counters blown up, as well, but either way, it’d be costly. So tempting, though!

It is very impressive! I’ve seen maps blown up, and counters, for games like Bitter Woods. This strikes my fancy because it’s my favorite solitaire game! I’m going to see if the map is downloadable from VASSAL, and if so, see what a local advertisement printing copany would charge for say, a vinyl map.

Ok, that is pretty dang cool! Thanks for sharing. Raid on St. Nazaire is the the best solitaire game I’ve ever played, and I doubt another game will ever top it. It’s that good! I’m very tempted to try and make this, but it would not be cheap!
