Bought these at Dollar tree in a package of 8. I want to make trees for my 6 mm board.

That base made them to tall for my needs so I cut them.

After cutting off the base I found some white cardboard,as my board is set during winter. I put white glue (PVA) on the base of the tree and pushed the wire into the cardboard. Not a new idea by any stretch of the imagination but just wanted to show how I made them.

Trim up the bases a bit and I call it done.

This will work under my cheap thread topic. The cross roads. The board is one of those foam display boards, big box store acrylic paints and assorted paper buildings I downloaded a while ago.

WOW, dude! …that’s freakin’ Awesome! I just saw these on your “On the Table” thread and asked about the roads, as well as comments of how cool this looks. Thank you Soooooo much for posting this thread, as I truly love seeing folks pay it forward to other hobbyists and gamers what’s possible when you apply creativity and think out of the box.
Those little Dollar Store trees are real nice looking! …at hobby stores for thinks like model railroading and model building, those would easily fetch three to six times the cost!

Thanks Em, I had been waiting on them little trees at Dollar Store, Wally World had pretty much the same thing for $9.89 a bag, I bought three bags of eight for $3.75! I will pick up more now that I know how well they work, and easy to work with too.
The trees I started with are on the boards edges now for a backdrop, I just painted pines on cardboard and cut them out.
