I can’t figure out how to post from my IPad gallery but here is the formula for my first post (Edit by Whiterook: I’ll add in the pics, since I see them on our Facebook group ) I’m painting A Song of Ice And Fire, abbreviated as ASOIAF hereafter, for a client. He’s using them for Lion Rampant/Dragon Rampant. He wants them accurate to the art. GRRM is licensing his works to CMON. Miniature Market had, has, the 1st edition rules with gorgeous artwork for sale for $10. The rules aren’t current, but the art is really a useful reference. Emery Gallant said people would be interested in the formulas I used in the painting, so I’ll include that with the posts. I might add, that I can’t recommend Kimera paints enough for personality figures enough. For bulk, Army Painter Speed Paints are the way to go. So, without further ado, Here’s my latest, and so far only personality figure, Ser Gregor Clegane (The Mountain) Vallejo white primer Chainmail: GW nuln oil wash Drybrush w/ Ammo MIG-0621 light metal Drybrush paint Leather:GW snakebite leather contrast Plate armor: GW Leadbelcher metal Drybrush w/ Ammo MIG-0621 light metal Drybrush paint Leather armor: SP Hardened Leather Sword: AP-Chainmail Metal-crossguard: Golden Iridescent Bronze hilt: SP Sand Golem wash of Golden Titanium White over yellow and leather parts Back of shield: SP Dark wood Tabbard: started with Titanium White as a basecoat. Used layers of Kimera Warm Yellow with Vallejo Arctic White added to get lighter layers. Shield: Dogs, Golden Bone Black the GW Black Templar. Background: Derivan Heraldry yellow then a coat of GW Bad Moon yellow contrast. Base: Agrellan Earth with a wash, Rock was SP gravelord grey and SP Orc skin for the moss. Tufts:AP mountain tufts, Beveled edge: Golden transparent red oxide

Fantastic stuff! How do you do you static grass (I think that’s what that is?)… I’m about to give that a shot and was figuring on white glue.

WOW…that’s gonna help tremendously with my Stark figures… thanks! I’ll have to do some substitutes for paints but can likely get close in most colors. What were your references… or do you just go by feel?

I started with the Hardbound Deluxe Rulebook, which has some excellent artwork. I looked up an image of the banner online. I’m tempted to get the RPG, which is supposed to have excellent art. I try and get the colors close but, obviously, can’t get them exact.

I try and get the colors close but, obviously, can’t get them exact. I picked up a bunch of stuff of this game, on a MiniaturesMarket sale where it looked to me like a clearance sale making room for a newer line of same, like, the Starks, which were the older (maybe first) versions. Just new to the game so, I’m not up on the history of the manufactured items. Anyway, I did pick up a hardcover book, but haven’t opened it yet,

The Hardback book and Google are your friends. I’ve used Google images for the banner colors.

Just spectacular work! There’s a lot to learn, just looking at your work, you know. Thank you for sharing!!!
I was looking at the MicroSatin finish… I wasn’t aware that existed! …how do you use it and for what purpose? I would love to have something so simple that serves as a final protective coat, as I generally stay away from the toxicity of Testor’s Dullcoat.
