I like White Dog Game’s offerings, and in fact, own a small handful at this point. They border on Beer & Pretzels-style gaming, meaning they are generally simple to learn and play, but that doesn’t mean they are light weight or limited in playability; but rather, they are challenging and extremely enjoyable, while also having a small footprint in rules and charts. To me, they are the perfect Saturday Afternnon type game, as well as excellent travel games. The components of the game itself are always very nice, though if you buy a boxed version, it will be better to store the game, rather than the ziplock bag option. These are also available for print ‘n play. The map is paper, and the folds are annoying, so it’s best to use plexiglas in my humble opinion. The counters are nicely done and a decent size. As of this writing, I have not played this one yet, but it’s one of the games I have next in the que!

Nice looking game. We have come along way from the brutally plain maps and blue and pink counters haven't we.

Nice looking game. We have come along way from the brutally plain maps and blue and pink counters haven't we. Yes indeed! I think of that same thing often… I was introduced to wargaming with Avalon Hill’s Panzer Leader, and it’s striking now how simple and plain those maps were! I still play those games and like the nostalgic feel of them now, but I much prefer what the new printing technology has brought to us in appeal and realistic looks.
