This was a KickStarter Game that just recently came in and I’m currently learning. It’s available on VASSAL so we can likely play it here on the forum via Play-by-Post. If you’ve played Tiny Battle Publishing’s, “Sticks & Stones, this is a more upscale version. This is 1985. This is World War III. But this is not your typical World War III. You can download the rules here… Look for the link NOTE: We’d be playing straight military forces… no paranormal entities. I want to keep this a little more simple, along the lines of what Stick & Stones brought us; save the paranormal stuff for the future.

Excellent… I’ll get to downloading the VASSAL module and setting up the scenario to be played. Maybe skip the paranormal elements ‘til we figure out the conventional arms stuff?

That's totally great with me. I'm less interested in the paranormal but don't mind trying it later.

That's totally great with me. I'm less interested in the paranormal but don't mind trying it later. Perfect! I’m part way through the rules. I’m gonna shoot for working in everything this coming week… I’ve got some a new furnace/hot water heater/ac unit going in through the midweek so it’ll be a good time to get the VASSAL mod going! …as usual, I’ll use it to GM the game and get pics of the action. I’d like to play the heck out of this game, and maybe even try a DISCORD live game sometime in the near future! It’s a neat game… uses the Platoon Commander, with only minor changes. That means we can also play WWII Eastern and Western Front games if the mood hits right!

Trying a map capture tests. The Camera button doesn't work on this VASSAL Mod for some reason, so I tried a <WIN> <Shift> <S> capture. Full Map Test... A little closer in... Here's a close up test...

I haven’t forgotten this one …I volunteered as a playtester for an Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit scenario pack and I’m crash-coursing myself through artillery and armor rules. I still need t’ get through The Long Road rules, too, so short delay here,

Look forward to watching You and Scott play this. I only have 1 modern war game and that plays in the 1950's early 60's!

Look forward to watching You and Scott play this. I only have 1 modern war game and that plays in the 1950's early 60's! This is gonna be a fun one! …it’s got a lot of similarities to the Sticks & Stones game he and I played, but it’s much more advanced than that one…yet, it’s a system that’s so accessible and playable, compared to so many games out there that are just so overwhelmingly complex. As you can see from the pictures above, I finally got VASSAL loaded on my Microsoft laptop, so I can use that instead of my old Mac… so much easier on files management! I was shocked how much easier it is to download the VASSAL engine these days… loaded on so easy, whereas it was such a pain a decade ago. I’m hoping to get the rest of the rules read and the files set up this or next week… I’ll be on the road to two back to back concerts next week (Puddle the Pity Party Clown, and then a B-52’s Farewell Tour show), so I’m trying to fit this in between.

The singers of Love Shack are hanging it up? I think that's their song? Puddles I have seen on you tube.
