Tank Entrenchment

Many years ago, I created a static tank entrenchment for an Axis & Allie’s Miniatures game called, “Oil for Panzers”. I needed an entrenchment to place a guarding armor piece by a critical roadblock into American lines, and I wanted something a little suggestive of that, without getting bogged down in a true rendition. The entrenchment can be seen in the background, past the yellow marker flag at the upper left… an American M10 Tank Destroyer (as I recall it) is covering the main road from advancing German armor. The fighting was vicious in that game, and the German player (a fellow named Tom) fought pitched battles all Aron d that pond. I seem to member that Tank Destroyer was had to knock out!



As you may well notice, there’s a lot of burning wrecks and dead bodies all over the place! My memory of events were that the Germans were able t9 penetrate the very top of the battlefield depicted, crushing through a villa and swinging in around the tank entrenchment (which I think is in flames here)… but the Americans, backed up by British reinforcements were able to repel the Germans from seizing an oil depot to the far right (outside of the picture). A very lucky bazooka team was able to fend off a final assault of German APCs with Infantry, off the front of the table’s road.

I believe two of our current members, Mikeh and MAGNA were players in the Allies side. This game was at one of the first iterations of this forum, probably 15 years ago?

It was a Glorious Day for War!
