PanzerIV J Late. 1/72. This is a kitbash I did using the the complete lower hull from Trumpeters Brummbar Late model kit and the upper hull and turret from Revell's PanzerIV J mid production kit. I wanted a kit of the last model PzIV J that has only 3 return rollers. Both companies did a great job as everything fit like a charm.

You guys have seen my stuff before, but here's a new photo with a lineup. The figures and military vehicles are 10mm metal. The figures are all from one set by Irregular Miniatures. The military vehicles are from Miniature Figurines. This picture doesn't include the 15mm minis I acquired this year, but those are for my G.I. Joe display rather than gaming.

Excellent Scott. I didn't realise you had so many figures in your army. And well done too.

20mm Paratrooper in metal, these are Battlefield Miniatures that I began in the late 1980's well into the 90's. I had about 20+ Para's done and the same in Germans. I'm going to freshen them up a bit.

A platoon of 15mm WWII German Panzer IV G, which are my third favorite tank, behind the Tiger I and Panther G. These are from the Flames of War line Painted with Folk Art Acrylics (cheap, but good craft store paint). Nothing special on finish here, as it was a straight paint job with no weathering on the tank itself, though some of the stowage got a little more in that department. I may weather these more someday, but for now, they have a decent dullcoat to protect the paint job. The tracks definitely need some grunge and mud! I was still figuring out soldier painting back then. These are beauties! …solid resin hulls and pewter metal tracks barrels, they have brilliant weight in the hand and dominate the battlefield diorama. A sexy tank! Shown on an Axis & Allies Miniatures game held at one of the old forums many years ago, they work well to enhance that system, as they are much more finely detailed.
…notice the last pic is used on our forum banner!?!

I have my own little Band of Brothers. My first armies for miniature gaming I pulled them out of storage and touched them up bit. The division patch looks better at gaming range.

A couple Volksgrenadiers, the one on the right is an old campaigner of Rommel's Afrika Korps and retains his cap and cuff title.

Fantastic!!! I still am your biggest fan in basing and painting! These figs are phenomenal and I love the Division patches. Can I assume Flames of War minis?

Hey Em thanks, they are Battlefield Miniatures 20mm metal figures out of the UK,I guess 20mm is around 1/80th scale. I don't think they are made anymore, although I hear the sculpture is working for someone else or maybe himself. The closeup pictures made me realise that a couple need some touch up yet, although on the table you don't notice. That will teach me to do closeups. These will be next on the table after my game in progress now. I do have some of these left that are not even started and also have some panzer crew members.

This is a platoon build of five American M4A1 Shermans, from February 2009. A Flames of War platoon box, it came with solid resin hulls and metal accessories. I don't believe the decals came with the box set, but rather from a separate decals sheet bought to outfit several boxed sets over time. The turrets are loose, and I had not learned about using rare earth magnets to secure them in place yet, but may do so in the future (alternatively. a little BluTac works nicely for that purpose). The Finished WorkThese were not only my first experience with miniatures building and painting, but also remain a favorite finished product on minis. They have been used in Flames of War and Axis & Allies Miniatures gaming, and always get high marks of appraisals. I still to this day, really like using Folk Art acrylics, as they go on nicely and are dependable. Being a cheaper line of art acrylics, the manufacturer uses a cheaper pigment in the mixing of their brand -- this means the pigments are bigger, which translates to a "sandier" consistency, though extremely small to the eye -- which looks more realistic on these armor miniatures, mimicking the metal used in construction. For a little more detail, see the build thread here

Nice Em! Did the gear on the backs come with the kit itself? Also I see only one with a tow cable, the one farthest right, did you add that one yourself?
