I see more and more gamers are buying 3D Printers and making their own stuff… from miniatures to accessories, they are forging a new frontier in gaming, and maybe making traditional miniatures manufacturers a little nervous!
Some of the stuff I am seeing produced is truly mind boggling! A couple items as an example, being for the Memoir ‘44 miniatures boardgame would be trays that hold infantry minis (typically, there are four infantry minis in a starting hex), and Higgins Boats…
These accessories are available as downloadable files that are plugged into you printer, and biggity baggity boo, out pops a Higgins Boat!
Personally, I don’t see myself ever buying one, but fortunately, there are a number of kind hearted gamer friends who are willing to print stuff at cost.
It to me, is really a brave new world in gaming.
