Ya’ll haven’t seen me around much lately I had a rather nasty fall two weeks ago tomorrow… tore up my left shin bad, real bad road rash on my knees and left forearm, bruised ribs and nose, and just all around banged up. Of all stupid accidents, I missed the second of two steps coming out of a laundromat, doing a belly flop in a tarred parking lot.
Our washer does gave up the ghost that morning mid-wash and we decided to go to the next town over to finish the load. I was bringing the wet basket back to the car while the load was started inside. My wife was amazing… after I crawled up to my feet and made my way to the window, she came out and immediately went to a major grocery store in the same complex and got saline spray wash, Neosporin, and bandages. We never did use the bandages, as there was a lot of gravel in the wounds. The first urgent care place we went to wasn’t urgent care anymore and sent us on our way with no love. Started heading for a hospital a couple more towns over and my my had the wherewithal to call out primary doctor and got me in for a 6:30 appointment, so we went home and I rested an hour before heading out. I got home at 8pm that night (the fall was at 3).
I saw my doc a couple days later and she was expecting it to look much worse; but was surprised and pleased at how well everything was progressing.
Now, almost two weeks later, I’m still recovering, but healing up. The shin is still the worst, but coming along nicely to date. It really put a crimp in my hobbies, as the ribs have me not able to bend forward well… but I’m planning to tinker with Conflict of Heroes this afternoon. Karen bought me the 3rd Edition to replace my defunct 1st for our anniversary a couple weeks ago.
So… I’m kinda back!
