I played the Warp Spawn game Jungle Skirmish with my wife years ago, and now I'm trying it as a digital solo game to see if it holds up. The rules are here: www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/JS.htmlI created the board and cards in PowerPoint and am playing one side against the other. It's not too cumbersome. Government troops are represented by blue stars (10 men per squad) and rebel troops by red stars. The big purple stars are objectives for both sides. This is a card-driven game. All squads can move at least one square each turn, but any extra moves and any attacks require the appropriate cards in your hand. It's fun. I think it might be more fun as a hex board game, so I may try that later.

That was a really fun game, even as one guy playing two sides against each other and knowing what cards both sides had in their hands. It came down to the very end, with a lot of exciting twists throughout. Government won, but just barely. The rebels had won two of the three objectives, but the government troops were able to kill them all and thereby win the game. Pretty good game for a freebie!

That’s cool! Kinda reminds me of the Mike Lambo games, so I see what you mean by maybe being worth a look at hex board…. However, Mike’s game as well as a few other, like Crowbar, are really having me look at square spaces differently (meaning, in a better light) than I had previously. If you can have a multitude of varying terrain variations (different zones for your jungles and others), you might want to consider square tiles, along the lines of what I’ll be doing with Mike Lambo’s “Ghosts of thr Jungle” game
