More gaming goodness… more spectacular counter design in The Long Road by Mark Walker! In the Hero counter (shown above), the counter is once again, represented not only by a NATO symbol, but also an illustration of the hero themselves. As to the subject of this thread, the rifle icon on the right side of the counter indicates that the Combatant is a Hero. Simple and elegant, and damned great looking! And even more on the eye Candy front, each Hero has ability icons on the left side of the counter (…what each of these do is indicated in the Legend PAC, included in the game).
Another example would be this one, of a Tank Commander… A tank icon on the right side of a counter indicates that the Combatant is a Commander. Each Commander has ability icons on the left side of the counter. What each of these do is indicated in the Legend PAC. And yet another example would be of this one, a Champion… A star icon on the right side of the counter indicates that the unit is a Champion. • Each Champion has ability icons on the left side of the counter. What each of these do is indicated in Legend PAC and on the Combatant’s Champion card. The use of symbols on the counters is a great way to gain instant attributes recognition though the chit itself, with a quick reference to a player aid card (the PAC) of memory fails. This is much more beneficial and efficient, than rummaging through the rukebook.
