I just realized the other day that, the Collectibles sales tactic for miniatures games, where they used to sell booster packs of random, unknown-what-your-getting minis seems to have dropped off heavy use. In fact, I can’t say I know of any out there anymore, for new games. I actually like that! I’ve always hated the Collectibles market… those companies that sold in that manner plugged it as a “Trade with your friends” good-thing, which is fine if you’re in grade school with a bunch of classmates that collect the same thing! Not applicable in my case!
Axis & Allies Miniatures was the big system I collected boosters for. I hated that you didn’t know what you were getting. I wound up with a bunch of minis that are/were never used.

Hated that "shot in dark" hope I get..... too, with that said I wish they would have kept making them, I got into the game late, mainly because of non matching scale between leg units and vehicles but that's another issue. I do wish they would not have just cut them off so abruptly. It's like Wizards got upset and picked up their ball and went home in the middle of the game. Now for me to buy into collectables again it would have to be something amazing and not done by WOC, they lost my trust.
