As long as you have 2 MP left at the end of your move or use 2 before you move you can flip back and forth between modes.
In maneuver mode you also use facing, point the barrels of whatever unit type towards the hex side you wish then the hex on either side of that. In other words you can be flanked in maneuver mode but combat mode you are in all around defense.

…WOW, that’s a really cool mechanic, in maneuver vs combat mode, and the choice you sometimes have to jump to another mode when you feel it beneficial… I can;t say I’ve seen that before and like it! Following along with great interest!!!

After a short hiatus the Soviets rush 3 armored units up a street leaving their supporting infantry to catch up to try and capture an intersection before the Germans can reinforce the Volksturm units defending the area. The 3 Soviet tank units bombard the area with their main guns disrupting the Volksturm but they also create more rubble (ruins marker) that will add one more Protection Factor to future defense. The Soviets suffer no loses but did not gain control of the intersection either. The armor units will have to wait for their infantry to advance.

I love me some good tank action! …that’s an interesting take on creating rubble, yet being to the benefit of the defenders afterwards…very realistic! Yikes, on that CRT…. I’ll take you word for it on simplicity!

Soviet mechanized units enter Berlin from the North West, (top left hand corner of map) and engage Hitler Youth and a couple Volksturm units defending the Havel Bridges. Two HJ lost but one managed to disrupt a Soviet unit keeping it from crossing the bridge. A part of a battle group from SS Clauseitz prepares to cross a Havel Bridge.

Looks like a fairly high counter count too, so I am sure that takes time in planning and execution every turn… yet, isn’t that one of the endearing traits of good wargames? …putting us in command of large forces! You may have mentioned this previously but, is the a solo game, 2-Player, or combination? Soviets push into eastern Berlin, all red beads are Soviet attacks. Very apropos on the red beads!!!

Designed for 2 but has a solo bot. Just got a new game in so may be taking this one down. The game that showed up today wasn't supposed to be here until Nov 1. Instead it got here from NY in a 2 days.
